Shawn, from Australia, was facing charges for failing to fill out a census report and contempt charges in court. Settling contempt charges are very important. Gordon's friend and his inability to "Hold his mud". Jack, who went to trial and lost, was facing sentencing and was able to postpone the sentencing hearing so as to exhaust the administrative process.

Dr. Don explains that he made mistakes and followed other teachers whose processes got him into even more trouble.
